This week the Email Experience Council ( eec site ) featured a great spotlight on emarket2 and Norman Campbell.
Just one of the suggestions he offered could pay your bills in 2007, we quote:
eec: What is the #1 piece of advice you would give any person looking to improve their enewsletter (besides make it relevant)?Norman: Never assume you know best and that you know what your readers want. Use every cost effective means at your disposal such as surveys, your sales reps and customer service staff to find out what they like and dislike about your company/products/services/newsletter. Then try to incorporate this feedback "one idea at a time" into your enewsletter to test it out and to keep it fresh, but don't go mad. Make limited changes so as not to confuse readers; it is impossible to work out what has and has not worked if you incorporate too many changes at once.
This article is also published on the eec site.
The Down2Earth newsletter was rated best B2B by ClickZ, and will link you to some great background and research info on our industry... the white paper you can download is over 200 pages of top shelf suggestions and processes.
Have a great Holiday weekend!
